Christian-Pierre La Marca plays L'heure exquise, French Melodies

Christian-Pierre La Marca is a young French cellist, eagerly recommended by leading artists such as S. Ozawa, M. Rostropovitch, I. Perlman. His first solo album for Sony Classical in France - titled "L'heure exquise" (from Reynaldo Hahn's Melody) - presents La Marca's own transcriptions for cello and piano of French melodies, mostly from the XXth Century, composed by Ravel, Debussy, Fauré, Gounod, Chausson, Chaminade, Poulenc, Saint-Saens, Hahn, Duparc, Satie, Kosma... up to the young contemporary French composer Thierry Escaich .
La Marca brings an incredible charm and softness to this beautiful music, his style is of great serenity and humble purity. Amandine Savary, is a sensible pianist partner, and the famous soprano Patricia Petibon kindly appears in the program by singing two melodies.
