Konbit Shelter - Bigones, Haiti

Callie Curry, Ben Wolf, KT Tierney, Tod Seelie, and Thaddeus Pawlowski with the help of Fritz Pierre Louis from Leogane, Haiti spent 6 weeks in Bigones, Haiti building Konbit Shelter. The project inspired by the work of Nader Khalili is designed as a community center to house the works of local stone carvers and educate the village in the techniques of earth bag building. The project continues with the ground breaking of new homes and the installation of a computer center in Bigones in December culminating in a memorial service at the Konbit Shelter on January 12th, the anniversary of the earthquake.
