extreme close-ups: Opaline Gourami checking out the camera

Don't forget to watch this in HQ (high quality)! My Opaline Gourami wanting to "feel" the camera... seems to really like to use its feeler fins to touch my hand whenever its in the tank. I'd like to think thats because its friendly :)

nope. its mouth is reddish tinged because of blood vessels near the surface of the skin. its skin is pretty translucent.

what's the size of the tank?

That was a 10 gallon tank. Too small, but it was temporary. A 20 gallon would have been much better.

I love Gouramis, & have a tank full, but those "feelers" have always kind of creeped me out they way they use them, like when you float new fish in bags, & they come up to check them out & "lay on hands" with those things.  It's unsettling.

@Dr8co1 Base on moods yes. When it is calm, mine tend to be a faded light blue. When they are nervous they turn almost white. When aggressive they blush a deep blue and their marbled patterns really come through.
