A direct comparison of the 2009 Yamaha R1 stock exhaust and the Two Brothers Racing slip on carbon exhaust. I also would like to give a special thanks to the guys at the Norte Dame of West Haven High School Extended Study program, Josh, Stephen, and Refat, for their help with the video taping and installation the the exhaust.

  • sounds like v8

  • I must say, I'm not usually a fan of inline four bikes, usually I love the sound of a twin cylinder. Seriously, I couldn't have cared less about anything with four cylinders.

But the other day, I got passed by an R1, and fuck me, what a sound! It sounds WAY better than those every other dime-a-dozen Japanese sportbike out there. I'm really impressed, and genuinely surprised that a straight four sounds like that. I have much more respect for R1's now. Thanks for posting this video.

  • sweet!

  • nice video and nice sounds ! but the exhaust are not beautiful style same plastic and bad quality

  • @iXetsuei Or you could have just said that the crank is phased at 90 degrees

  • Just bought an 09 R1 and I'm sold on this exhaust : )

  • Buying a 2006 Yamaha R1 Anniversary Edition, the owner asked me if I want the stock exhaust back on it or would I like to go with the exhausts he set up.

I now have the answer, thanks to you

  • Thanks for the great video. Finally, a quality sound and appearance comparison. Really good job comparing stock to Two Brothers.

  • The reason this engine sounds like a V8, is because like V8 engines, it has a cross plane crankshaft. Nearly all other I4 engines there are use flat plane crank shafts, which gives them their distinct buzzing noise. Ferrari V8s also use flat plane crank shafts, which is why they sound different from other V8s.

  • Very nice dude, very good video for someone looking for exhausts. I like the driveby clips and revs, very helpful. Keep up the good stuff brother!!!!

  • YUH GONA B PROWLING WHILE GROWLING NOW!!
