Undeniably one of Widor's greatest and most inspired compositions, superbly played by Ben van Oosten on the magnificent Cavaillé-Coll of St. Ouen - indisputably one of the finest organs ever built. Recorded in 1995.

  • So there you go, just when I thought Daniel Roth's version at St Sulpice was unbeatable, Ben van Oosten plays superbly at St Ouen. This is also the better quality recording. Thanks for posting.

  • Instrument exceptionnel, et l'interprétation est au même niveau...bravo ! D.BABEL

  • Deze uitvoering is niet te overtreffen.

    Grandioos!

  • Cavaille Coll knew what the voice of God was suppose to sound like. This is a perfect example. One of the greatest pieces ever written on the best organ in the world.

  • Absolutely among the best performance I've ever heard! Fantastic!!

  • That Bombard beats all Bombards! It comes at you like a big long satisfying burp after a fantastic rich meal of rosted pheasant with sticky toffee pudding for dessert that was all washed down with some nice bottle of chateau de Lafite! Ah! Bring more of it on please with lashing of Cavaille-Coll !

  • never was a bombarde so satisfying !!! wonderful all round !!!!

  • St. Ouen has barely ever been changed from it's original stops, likewise st. sulpice. Just to hear some of these organs that are close to 100 years old is just, astounding.

  • Perfection

  • I love the sound of this organ!! Very well played by Mr Oosten too. Fantastic video!!
