The Four Hares (Laura Hare, Katie Hare, Preston Dunn, and Bill Hare) singing "Lucky Ladybug", a song from 1958 live on September 4, 2007 at Bill Hare Productions in Milpitas, California. There are two takes in this video (the second take was sooo much better!!). The song was originally a # 14 hit song in January 1959 for the group Billy and Lillie which was made of the duo Billy Ford (died 1985) and Lillie Bryant (now Lillie Bryant Howard, who was born on 2/14/1940 in Newburgh, New York and still is a resident there). We thought this would be such an adorable song to sing, so we did ourselves!! Enjoy!!

THE FOUR HARES ARE:

Preston Dunn (born 5/8/1976), from San Jose, California. He was 31 in this video, but just turned 32 on May 8th this year. He holds a BA degree in Geography from California State University, Stanislaus in Turlock, California. An autistic savant, he knows every town in California and most places in the Deep South.

Katie Elizabeth Hare (born 8/10/2001), from Milpitas, California. She is the little girl with brown hair in the center of the video. She was barely 6 years old at the time of the video in September 2007.

Laura Joy Hare (born 4/13/2000), from Milpitas, California. She is now 8 years old, but she was 7 years old when this video was taken.

Bill Hare (born 1964) was the producer on this song, and the kids' father, as well. He was playing the musical part of the song (he wasn't seen though on this video, because he was in the control room). He lives in Milpitas, California with his two little girls, Katie and Laura, and his
wife, Jennie.

  • Hehe..you have the same surname as me!! :D

  • Actually, I don't have the surname as you. My last name is Dunn, my first name being Preston. I was the one who posted this video.

Of course, I guess you could count me in as a "Honorary Hare", because we are calling ourselves the Four Hares, to make things simpler. Plus we are doing a cover of a 1958 original song and a lot of bands/groups in the 1960s and 1950s had animal names, such as the Flamingos, Turtles, Beatles, Monkees, and so forth. But my last name is actually not Hare. Take care

  • and your name is Katy Hare!! That's funny, because Katie Hare (the little girl in the center of this video, the brown haired girl) sometimes writes her name as Katy too!! Actually, I think she now uses Katy versus Katie, but her real name is Katherine. Katie (or Katy) is just short for Katherine, which I'm sure you are aware of. Thanks for the comment Katy!! :-)

  • Cool, now I know what you look like. Not a good idea giving out your real name online. You could end up with a stalker. I never knew you were in a music group.

  • the little girl in the middle was the best one

  • hey!! its me Ashley(storms) whats up awesome video Pres :) you rock!!

  • this is 10 times better than the origional

  • great singing there geowizkid26, i love oldies!!! i have a disorder relating to autism as well (aspergers)

  • This is cool! Trivia info: This song was written by Bob Crewe who is currently enjoying huge success with the Broadway show JERSEY BOYS. Crewe has a long string of pop goodies including all of the hit songs of the 4 SEASONS....Freddy Cannon...Mitch Ryder...and Diane Renay (just to name a few).

Perhaps his best song was, "Silhouttes" which sold more than 2 million in 58 and launched his career. He appeared on Dick Clark's original "Bandstand" several times when it was broadcast from Philly.

  • I wish someone would simply post the original song.

  • hehe it's okay...sorry i obviously read the details wrong :( i got all excited for nothing!!
