Did the same with a mid 80's Toyota truck. I dumped sea foam into the carb until it flooded (as prescribed on the bottle), let it sit for a few minutes (as directed by the bottle), then fired it up and had the same effect. Had no clue THAT would happen, but after opening both garage doors, the thing ran like a top. Rusted frame was finally the reason we got rid of it.

@borrowedparts ..If you have fuel injectors, do not use carb cleaner, will hurt your O2 sensors. Just use THROTTLE BODY CLEANER.
-
@LIVE2RD Yes, Just go to dealer and buy fuel injector cleaner come in bottle about $11.99 and put in your gas tank..and fill to FULL and run...SAFER. Dealer tell me not doing SEA FOAM ..bad for the O2 sensor and BIG COSTLY to repair!! I STAY IN THE SAFER SIDE!
by the way when you clean K and N filter, Is that OK when you "oil" your filter and still a little wet?? I put outside and wait 4-5 hours and still not complete DRY like factory whey you buy new?
-
BAD FOR YOUR O2 sensor and Dealer Toyota did not recommend to do that!!

seafoam is like 6 bucks a can, the theory in this is it will flush the crud out of the intake and clean up the valves quickly, in real life it does that pouring it in the tank, just slower, additionally it cleans out the crud in your injectors, lines, basically anything your fuel touches and kills the moisture in the fuel. doing this is a waste of seafoam. use it for its intended purpose, if you wanna clean up the stuff, i dunno spray in some carb cleaner

@hideyourkidshidewife Well, i did this to a enterprise rental car i had, 2011 ford focus with 1300 miles, and it smoked just as much as this truck, if not more. Your telling me that car had that much carbon buildup at 1300 miles? No. No way. The smoke you see is the seafoam itself burning off. The only plus to this stuff is it is supposed to help absorb water from the fuel tank if used as an additive. There;s my homework, buddy.
-
@theninjadang the one coming off the brake booster, which is the round part the master cylinder is attached to
-
@JeepXJforever Not really, first time I used it on my Bronco a lot of smoke came out then after the 3rd use ( one every 6 months) almost NO smoke came out. Do your homework buddy.
-
@great132 you can dump it in with your oil or add some in with your gas or both
-
where do you add the seafoam? where is the brake booster line on the tacoma? thanks
thinkin bout doin that...but i'm skeptical....

i'd reccomend doing it. just do a little bit and see if you like it. i did it that one time and just havent got around to doing it again. worth a try. make sure you read on the online forums before you do it.

I bet thats great for you when you breathe it tn. Why do people seafoam there 3.4L? I have a 1998 and it runs so well. All I do is change the oil, clean the K & N and 3 times a year run redline fuel system cleaner. Seafoam looks to be overkill.

I also do my oil change and clean the K&N frequently. Someone reccomended this, so i did it once and havent done it since. It seemed like it helped.... i dunnno.. don't hate me for sharing my video with ya!!
