@mermaidsh2o @hazahaxa Alice Krige's character said the 4400 "experiment" was failing, so it's hard to tell how much of what is happening was intended to happen by the future. Also, when they took the children back in time, the children led to the development of synthetic petroleum and the establishment of lunar colonies. That's not exactly what you'd expect from an evil future.

@hazahaxa This is the way I see it as well. You see maybe if the whole population was the same (if there were no 4400 with special abilities) then maybe there would be no catastrophe. Maybe the people from the future sent the 4400 back to start a conflict with the rest of the population in order to create a war therefore the previous population will be erased, and the people from the future would start a new era. The people from the future want the history to themselves!

The way I see it, the only reason the "catastrophe" is going to happen is because the 4400 were sent back in the first place! I think the future people WANT the catastrophe to happen.
