  • I did short burnout left two tire marks....still uncertain if LSD though because majority of my car did not come with lsd.

  • what if you have it in neutral, both wheels jacked off the ground, and when you turn one wheel the other wheel doesn't move at all ?

  • Get some jack stands.

  • @gordysuggs Look in the console for a blue and white sticker that lists the RPO codes. Go down the list and look for G80. If you have that code, it has a factory limited slip.

Or, like in the vid, jack up the tires, put in neutral, test if wheels spin freely by hand.

put in gear, attempt to turn the wheels by hand, if they are hard to rotate, that is a limited slip.

The other possibility is you could have a torsen unit, you really can't test for those other than pulling the cover and looking.

  • if there is an LSD in there, it is shot, unless it is some type of torque biasing unit, those can act a bit strange sometimes.

  • You can also check the code sheet in the glove box or the driver side door or door jam and call the dealer or parts house and the internet has the info too... Plus it's a little easier and no tools

    needed....

  • KURENAI!

  • @sandrochatlos1 limited slip is posi, just in gm terms

  • So if you're doing a burnout and only one wheel spins then you have LSD? If both spin then you have posi-traction?

  • @gordysuggs Your car most likely has a cone type lsd meaning its worn out the cone type diffs are only good for a few real good skids then they are no good as they turn into 1 wheel spinners sometimes
