The ultimate carnival lasting 7 days and 7 nights in the middle of the Nevada Desert. Described as anutopian experiment, this gathering is considered total artistic freedom, where incredible structures and works of art are created, often taking months of preparation. Their destination? The pyre at the end of the week.

Prefered the Rodney King riots, more fires, more sharing (looting), no entrance fees and most people kept their clothes on. Should be having many more of those "celebrations" given the direction of the economy.

Hi prescottbill....i attended the 1994 LA riots and have fond memories of it. The sharing,caring and music were all so much in the air.Even the police became real peace officers and allowed us to continue to celebrate without fear of retribution.I met my wife there and today we have 8 children and 2 grandkids....This burning man thing is all LA riot wannabe.Its got no soul.
