My adventure in Hollywood to be in a film documentary starts with a long, long train ride from my home in the east Texas piney woods of Marshall.

  • 9 of those hours is due to the layover in San Antonio, which is there due to the huge padding in the Sunset Limit's schedule, which due to Union Pacific (the owner of the tracks from Los Angeles to New Orleans) being a dick.

Even in the space of 4 years, Amtrak is a lot faster and more enjoyable than it was in 2007.

  • @GlobalistPotato

    Good news :)

  • Hey, good video.

    Sorry about your unpleasant experience.

I would only say, the reason your experience sucked was because of the mismanagement of infrastructure, in the part of the country.

Here in the northeast, amtrak is easily one of the BEST ways to travel.

The Acela line between Boston and DC is often better than flying, much less taking a bus.

It's liberating to be able to drive, but not have to.

Rail in the south is basically third-world.

  • @AnonymousElektron

Yeah, I've heard that about Amtrak: northeast good/south third world. Yep.

  • Awsome but amtrak is probably the best travel cause its the only trains with double decker cars and plus, you dont have to sit in a crunched up seat like in a car!

  • I'd probably enjoy it a lot more now that I've quit smoking.

  • Amtrak rocks and soon it will become the elite of all rail travel! Great food and great service, who could ask for more? T.C. 4-18-2010

  • I heard it was good. Better than sex, which I'm having trouble believing.

  • try riding the amtrak pacific surfliner which goes 90MPH
