"Mighty Oregon" - Oregon Ducks sing fight song following 2008 Civil War

The Oregon Ducks celebrate their 65-38 triumph over the Oregon State Beavers following the 2008 Civil War football game by singing their fight song "Mighty Oregon" in the visitors' locker room. The date was November 29, 2008.

Lyrics:

Oregon, our Alma Mater, we will guard thee on and on.

out of all the two universities in the country, the two (outside Alaska and Hawaii) furthest from the Southeast managed to claim the title CIVIL WAR for their rivalry. how did that happen?

@lordofwrath88 The Oregon vs. Oregon State game was first referred to as the "Civil War" in a newspaper article in 1929 (the first game between the two was in 1894). Besides the obvious animosity between the two schools, I'm sure the proximity of the campuses (separated by only 37 miles) played a large part in the nickname first being used and subsequently sticking. It is truly a battle of neighbor vs. neighbor, friend vs. friend and, in some cases, family member vs. family member.

True crystal may not have a smell, per se. Saw that phrase on another site & liked it. I'm not a creative person so I'm not able to think of anything witty. Chips & dip just doesn't seem to fit (at least to me). Maybe someone can think of something catchier. Still, GO DUCKS!!!!
