This is the theme music to the 1975 Bob Stewart U.S. game show "Blankety Blanks", which aired on ABC-TV daytime, and was hosted by Bill Cullen. This music was also used as the theme music to the 1986 Bob Stewart game show "Double Talk", which also aired on ABC-TV daytime and was hosted by Henry Polic II. Bob Cobert is the composer of this music.
Welcome to DOUBLE TALK, The Word Game where Everything you See and Hear is not what it Seems to be. For Example, If you saw a Puzzle that read "PRECIPITATING MEOWS AND BOW-WOWS", That would be Double Talk for "RAINING CATS AND DOGS".

@tnawcwvictoria This show was actually taped at Elysee Theatre in New York...as this show was produced by Bob Stewart (who was definitely New York based at the time)

Sounds similar to the Jackpot (1980's) and Shoot For The Stars theme.

Hey, this was a cool theme, Bill Cullen as usual is nice and friendly to the celebs and Henry wasn't bad and he was also nice to the celebs, and if I'm not mistaken, both shows were Videotaped @ the ABC Television Center in Hollywood, CA where Bandstand, Who's the Boss? and Family Feud w/Richard Dawson were taped and the theme kind of reminds me of Jackpot and all of those shows were from Isadore Steinberg also known as Bob Stewart, God Bless Mr. Cullen and God Bless Henry Polic II from Webster.

The reason is that Bill Cullen contracted polio as a child. Also Bill Cullen is in the Guiness Book of World Records as the most prlific gameshow host.

If possible, would someone please post the entire episode of Bill Cullen's Blankety Blanks. I would like to see what the original game was like.

I'ont know why, but why does this make me think of both the themes to Jackpot! and Wait 'Til your Father Gets Home...?

so its nothing to do with the aussie blankety blanks which is the match game?

I agree. Cullen was an excellent host. It was just that he hosted some really badly put together game shows, and of coursde he was limited of movement.

As yes, another in the many line of short lived shows hosted by the great Bill Cullen. He always made the most of what he had, but often times the games he hosted were constructed poorly, had other flaws or were just in a crappy timeslot. On more than one game, the rules were changed during the run, which is never a good sign.
