Tzu Chi's relationship with Haiti

Around this time last year, a group of Tzu Chi volunteers were in Haiti busily preparing supplies for the large scale aid distribution that took place on January 15. The charity event was facilitated by envoy Qi Wangde (齊王德) and ambassador Xu Miansheng (徐勉生) of the Embassy of the Republic of China in Haiti; Mr. Zhang Shiqi (張士錡) from the Overseas Engineering and Construction Company took care of the manpower and the venues. The aid relief helped more than 3,000 hurricane-stricken families. It is not known how many of them survived the recent earthquake, but our prayers are with them, as with the rest of those in Haiti.
