this technique is worth to learn BUT it is difficult palm mute with this playing style (high gain???). I think more important is what you can learn from this musically not technically. Pick angles an picking style- there are lots of different approaches and everyone of them works well for certain things you play

@Fitzliputzli23 gypsies are all of middle east/asian descent and mixed european melodies with their musical roots. and it's easy to play that fast. its all a matter of PRACTICE PRACTICE AND PRACTICE! its always good to see musicians learning from other cultural musical styles. \m/

His right hand is unbelievable! Now I know where traditional gipsy-guitarists got their technique from - it is Arabic! Take a look at the way Bireli Lagrene or Stochelo Rosenberg hold their flat pick. It is pretty much the same angle and they too reach this frightening rapid speed and precision. Maybe this technique is well developed over some hundred years and thus much more effective than modern flat pick technique. Maybe us rock players should learn from the Arabs and Gipsies...
