When the swell is big it is dangerous especially for people who underestimate the currents which are quite strong...respect the sea :)

sure you can surf in cyprus, i have for about 9 years. good place to start is contacting the guy at Airtime in Limassol, 25932673. he teaches surfing, rents, sells and repairs boards

i surf cyprus most years,last year 2 people drowned 1 at the venus beach hotel,we pulled a girl out about 2 days after that just in a rip swimming against it,it does get hairy even in the summer ,as it is all rock reef,just take care
