Hey Rebecca - thanks so much for posting this. I know it's so personal, but it's one of the biggest questions I've had about the surgery (I'm only two weeks post-op) and it seems so few people post about it. Congratulations on your pregnancy as well!!!

PCOS here, too. I would like for you to make a video to address how gastric bypass has affected your PCOS symptoms if at all. I am 20 weeks post-op. I know of at least 3 others in this WLS community who are also 'soul cysters'.

congratulations I'm so happy for you. Enjoy them all you can because they grow so fast. I have a 19 and 24 year old and miss having a baby around. Make sure you you tube the baby when it arrives. Looking forward to your story!!

Did you see a significant difference in minstrations after the surgery? I have zero right now without chemical induction. My Doc says its almost a sure thing that i will become regular post op. Thanks so much for doing this its such a great thing that you are doing to share you experience.
Im 10 months out from my surgery and im pregnant. My Doctor told me about a lady who had the surgery then found out she was preggo and her baby was fine!

Cory Jack is now 7 weeks and we thankfully had no complications with the pregnancy. He is a healthy, happy baby who was 7lb 6oz and 19 in at birth and is presently 10lbs 11oz, 22 1/4in by breastfeeding so there are no problems there either. Congrats on your pregnancy. Best of luck.

It was recommended to wait 12-18+ months post op to get pregnant so that mom has more nutrient absorbancy (I'm sure that's not a technical term). I added extra folic acid, Omega 3 and B12 to my supplements/vitamins, in addition to my prenantal. Baby will get what he needs, the body is amazing like that, but you have to be mindful to eat especially healthy for mom's sake at this time. We did more ultrasounds to watch the growth rate. ~Rebecca

My PCOS symptoms did get better after WLS. My cycles become more regular (I was on the pill but that had been the case for years), lighter and less cramping. As far as other symptoms, hair loss etc, it's hard to say because you do lose some hair post op. We'll see after the baby is born if my cycles continue to be more normal and if the rest of the PCOS symptoms ligten up.
