American Cars in Cuba - Keeping the Old Ones Running

Back in the 1980s I made this series for Ted Turner and Turner Broadcasting. A two-hour incredible special on Cuba. Turner wanted to put cable television there. I don't know if he succeeded. But the film is a great piece of Cuban history.

Cubans may be poor and living like like a prisoner but Cubans should at least be proud of their country. We don't hear news of suicide bombing, etnic cleansing, religious-related violence or some kindda honor killings. Communism is bad and oppressive for ordinary people, but better it is than the religion of Islam.

History tells us.

Funny how you complain about Cuba's government which you know precious little about, yet ignore your OWN government & the serial abuses, frauds, crimes, wars & betrayals committed in YOUR name. Cubans waste time fixing those cars, and time is money, but in Cuba there is no money, time is ALL you have...but you better not complain because your neighbor will rat you out! so watch out!

The cubans knows how to keep their cars rolllin because they got pride. My heart goes out to them.
