Cold-Frame Greenhouses, sometimes called hoop houses, are an inexpensive alternative to large-scale greenhouses and allow growers to produce various crops year-round. Extension Specialist Del Jimenez shows us how to construct a cold-frame greenhouse in this easy to follow, step by step video.

Funded by a Western Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education grant.

  • @gloorbit This greenhouse design and location are intended mostly for New Mexico and central Southwest areas, so the ideas would have to be modified for other areas.

  • It must not be windy in that area, yeah?

It would last maybe about one winter here in Walla Walla.

Question: If you put a wind break (trees) on the southwest side, the sunny and windy side for me, then you negate the advantage of the sun in winters, no?
