Unsafe Stop Sign in Front of Scotia School - Segment 1

I capture about 25 minutes of video, edited to 8 minutes showing cars running through a stop sign posted in front of the school where children are dropped off and picked-up. Not only are cars not stopping but School District vehicles and buses running through the stop sign. I decided to shoot this video, cam mounted on my dash, after several weeks of watching this reckless behavior with other parents and no Police present.

This is my 3rd yr at this school. There are proper places to pick up & drop off your child safely. The school pays a person to stand outside to monitor the situation. Parents who park across the street from the school are picking up/dropping off incorrectly. School has provided info on this. Watch 2 cars park & people get out - it is at a faster pace - so it appears that the cars are rolling through the stop sign at a quicker pace than they actually are.

You are correct. There are proper places to drop off/pick-up and there are vehicles parking incorrectly and I have seen The Principal advising drivers of this. Yes, there is a person who monitors the crosswalk. Yes, I did speed up that one clip to save time and show that there are vehicles that park on that side of the street to pick up their children. No other clips have been changed, they are at actual speed. Thank you for watching and your comment..

A genuine proactive-stand for the students well being! I also have witnessed these gross negligence actions. These parents, bus drivers and Town of Glenville workers should all be ashamed of themselves. I certainly hope that the Glenville Police start stationing a patrol car at this school intersection. I can only hope that this is what it takes to get the much needed attention and not an innocent child being run down by a vehicle or a bus. GREAT REPORTING PoPMediaPro!!!

I understand your concerns. But sometimes you need to stop farther past the stop sign to see around the cars that have parked incorrectly so you can pull thru the intersection safely. The camera doesn't capture that angle. There are many issues with the traffic patterns around this school. I appreciate what you are trying to do.
