umm no youre wrong... the vtec system is hydraulically activated on the cam shaft when it hits a certain rpm it holds the valves open longer in effect allowing more gas into the combustion chamber. when the engine winds down springs disengage the rockers. anyone who thinks that any certain way to get more power out of an engine is a joke is poorly informed... vtec was designed to replace turbochargers in formula 1 and it did because it simply is better for that kind of racing...

@papertigers426 It uses oil pressure to slide a pin through the followers. Thus locking the larger cam lobe "into" the smaller "lobe followers". Effectively changing the CAMSHAFT PROFILE. There are NO springs used to disengage the pin, it is ALL pressure.

this was recorded in 2005. phones with good cameras were expensive. so yes the camera is half a decade old!
