I play a Squier standard from 2000 & it is pretty damn good playing & sounding. The pickups aren't as hot. All guitars from a factory seem to come with the strings straight on the neck as opposed to a little bit of arc to them, mainly the D and G strings. With some adjustments by someone who is professional, any guitar can play well. Unless the neck is bowed beyond belief. Fenders are overrated in ways, the same as Gibson is, etc. Squiers were good guitars before they may have ruined their line.
Joe, and any other very well known, arena packing, million record sales band/guitarist isn't "paying" for sh*t. They get endorsements from the instrument co's and therefor are provided gear.
Joe Perry playing your instrument is a pretty good commercial/endorsement for your product.
@JimmieEarlsMusic I saw one show of that tour and it is indeed a Squire strat because i was close enough to read on the headstock... I was like "Joe with a squire wtf!" and then saw him destroying the guitar... "oh ok now I understand why he took a squire" lol
Looks to me like it's a Squire Affinity Strat because there is no rosewood strip on the back of the neck. The only Fender-made stuff I know of that is made like that is the Affinity line. It's only for show, 95% of the people in the crowd don't care what guitar he's using, and so what - he's Joe F-ing Perry! He can use whatever he wants! Peace!
@thewhorocks524 nah man. i see your point, BUT, the first leter on the headstock is not a s. It looks like a D, and its biggger than what thr squier S would be. For sure its a off brand, and even if it was a fender, he could smash it to death because he has the money for more. lol Its like paul stanley, he has two of almost every guitar, of the same brand. For example, he will buy two of the same fenders, play one on stage, and at the end, switch to the second fender to smash it.
@tlr12345 idk, the writing on the headstock, however blurry it is, looks like squier. you can just throw some fender pickups into a squier and voila, you got a fender. that's what i did with my squier. granted joe can afford it, but i dont think joe would buy a real fender just to beat it to hell every night
how many gigs have they played in their life ?! what do u think ?!

@thewhorocks524 Its not a squier. Do you think a legend like him would be playing on a squier? I dont even think thats a fender to be honest.
