@New987user I'm telling you dude...you're wrong about this. I remember the line in the Courier Journal, UK was favored by like 8 or 8 1/2 depending on the day of that week. I repeat: Michigan beat UCLA by 2 in OT, G. Wash by 8, and Temple by 5 in the regional, while UK destroyed Utah by 22, Wake by 34, and FSU by 25. There is no way Michigan would be favored at all, but I don't have my old newspaper from 1993 so I can't 100% prove it. Are old lines like this available online?

@New987user Completely incorrect. I remember the line at the time and it was Kentucky that was favored by like 8 or 8 1/2. Michigan played largely like crap in the regional, barely edging UCLA in OT, looking lethargic vs. G. Wash, and narrowly escaping Temple by 5. UK crushed teams BADLY, like 22 over Utah, 34 over Wake, and 25 over FSU. Honestly I thought UK would blow them out.

I'm sure because I was in Vegas and lost money on that particular game since Michigan didnt cover =( You are right that the Fab Five took Carolina lightly because Kentucky was a better team (probably much better) than Carolina. So its fair to say that they were confident that they would beat Carolina. Part of the reason why Carolina won was that the Fab Five were tired by the OT win over Kentucky. Coach Fisher rested the Fab Five more than normal in the first half.

I'm not saying you're wrong, but I always thought Kentucky were the favorites, because they were both #1s and Kentucky had won all their previous tournament games by about 30. If you watch the Fab Five documentary, they seem to indicate that Kentucky was the team to beat and that's why the Fab Five took Carolina lightly..
