    Josephine Baker was the first global superstar and fashion icon, who was also a civil rights activist, and for her work with the french resistance was awarded the Croix De Guerre, Rosetta de la resistance and Legion D Honneur. Madonna toys with sexual ambiguity, Josephine was sexual ambiguity, and decades before Brad & Angelina adopted half of Africas children, Josephine adopted her rainbow children from different countries. There has been no superstar since to match Bakers achievements
