  • One of the reasons this form is so cool is that you get to work both arms equally.

  • Mostly they cut veins and arteries in the wrists, neck, etc .. tendons of the ankles, and trap the opponents sword between the two when they cross over each other. Pointed stabs straight ahead pierce the heart, or the top of the foot if pointing down. Slice em and poke em, mostly. Broadsword is more of a slicer and slasher, and straight sword more of a stabber. Isn't that sweet?

  • There are sword drills that you practice first. They warm up and strengthen your shoulders, wrists, etc .. and train you to keep the swords parallel, and either stabbing, cutting up, slicing -- all manner of nasty attacks to the opponents veins and arteries. These swords would be razor sharp for real usage, but for practice, are pretty blunt. It's great for more balanced exercise in that finally both arms get equal usage, as opposed to most other weapons forms in which the right arm dominates.

  • Thank you for the compliment. I love this form very much. I will soon post videos on my website that train the foundation for doing this form.

  • Thank you. I love this form because it works both arms equally as opposed to most weapons forms which predominantly work the right arm. Grandmaster Peter Kwok used to tell me to keep the swords parallel and steady. I did a lot of sword drills which strengthen the wrists and shoulders.

  • Nice video. It's quite uncommon to see traditional double straight sword forms .

Does anybody know the full name for this set?

  • @aeroSeraph

    It's called "Phoenix-Dragon."

  • Wow, I have never seen a double straight edge sword form. I truly enjoyed watching this; it was pretty clean and very elegant and showed you had really put effort into it.
