Me speaking on the newly annouced Akai MPC Renaissance. Somebody has to ask the tough questions, why not a former MPC fan turned avid Maschine user?

  • Lots of good questions. Should be interesting to see how it plays out. Competition will help Maschine users too.

  • @comdico Agreed

  • I feel like Akai and IkM. instead of devin for the iPhone, they should dev for the iPad!

but is Maschine a self contained unit. Can it work standalone?

  • @zellymusic Nope, it requires a computer. It's a controller with its own proprietary software.

  • The MPC was awesome. The Maschine didn't simply copy the MPC, it came with something innovative that was heavily inspired by the MPC. So what does a "legendary" company do to punch back and push things even further? They copied the Maschine. And by the way, didn't do it nearly as good. Sad when you have to say "Step your game up Akai". They should know better

  • @JBarber3d Finally, somebody that gets it!

  • Tash Im sorry you didnt blast it that was some other lame dude just needed to correct myself. Your first review was tight. Im subscribing lol.

  • ¡

  • @tasherredenajetic Did you really block my other account or is this a mistake

  • If I was gonna use stand alone I would use an Mpc before I beat thang- but a Maschine and a Mac book fits right into small back pack

  • So apparently I been blocked. Is this what the deal is Tash? Really? Blocking me? That's BS

  • @truthhturt1 But the downside is you carrying along ya laptop 24/7.. where as to beat thang hardware, you dont need a laptop at all.. midi controllers are good but having to brig ya laptop everywhere you go gets old..

  • @tasherredenajetic Tash get at me it's Shoez

  • And secondly Maschine is truth!

I lost my whole studio in fire.

Copped Maschine and a Mac book and it's like having my Mpc back but better. The functionality of Maschine alone is enough to put Akai on the "oh shit" list. Sampling is a billion times easier. 1 cable 2 units= my whole studio in a back pack minus speakers and recording. You can't beat that!

Plus on trips on train plane or in car I'm smashing sequences. Can't do that on a Mpc
