Say YES to City of Rochester upon Medway and NO to Medway City

Medway Council wish to make Medway a city in pursuit of their own personal gain and are wasting our money trying to brainwash us into the idea. Join our facebook group at http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=152261614806298 to tell them what you think about the idea which puts personal gain above public services.

Their claims that it will bring money into the area which will trickle down to businesses and the public are not well supported by other towns that have done this. When they have been pressed on what these benefits are, they remain 'quiet'

Medway itself does not constitute a unit in the same way that Rochester was once a cathedral city. If Medway want a brand, then they should restore the City of Rochester upon Medway - already recognised and with easy approval from the Queen.

Medway Council also claim that it will put the towns on the map. Yet, once again, they provide no evidence to support the claim. Any serious business thinking of investing in the area would want to have information about transport, infrastructure, availability of staff and so on. They would be unlikely to invest on the basis of a 'badge'.

Medway Council claim they are not spending much money on the project, yet the 'hidden costs' of the bid are considerable, whilst they sack frontline staff and remove services.

"Serving You" is their motto. We think not and suggest they should retitle the Council slogan "Serving Ourselves".

In response to Medway Council's City Status Bid vid on YouTube, I posted a lot of comments (7 or 8) pointing out just how much bullshit the video contains. Oddly my comments disappeared a few days later. .................. And for some reason I can no longer add comments......... !!
