Rare PSA featuring the creatures of the Star Wars Cantina in the famous "Friends don't let friends drive drunk" campaign. This was produced for the US Dept of Transportation in 1979.

Is the audio out of sync?

The PSA is effective because it draws on to pop culture in a fun way without forcing the message down the audience's throat. At the beginning, a person wouldn't be sure what sort of commercial they were watching and the surprise message is both clever and memorable. Two signs of a good PSA.
