Yes, there is oil in Iraq, but that's not why we are staying. If we walk away, the terrorists, (when finished running roughshod over the nonterrorist Iraqis,) will have a base of operations from whence to safely launch attacks upon us, and more effectively, our ally Israel.

Besides, although it's debatable whether we beat the idea of communism at all, the people of the world still groaned under communist governments until Reagan.
