  • It's very telling that the GOP senators are bringing up a case in which Sotomayor was simply following the established law and using her vote (on a panel) as evidence of being racist. Meanwhile the Supreme Court ended up making new law by overtuning the ruling (and being EMPATHETIC with the firefighters). So it was the Supreme Court that was being a bunch of "activist judges" by the GOP's definition. I guess they're only "activists" when they make a decision the GOP disagrees with.

  • Conservative Dictionary:

Judicial Activism - when a judge rules against how you feel a case should be decided.

Reverse Racism - when anyone points out that conservatives have a blatant disregard for American race relations history, a long standing history of suppression of minorities.

Just some helpful defintions for decoding the right wings attacks over the next couple of days.

  • So classic

  • You are absolutely correct. And it remained so till after the 1960. The democrat party was always the party of the old fuddy duddys that stood in the way of progress. And they still try to keep us in the dark ages of socialism. Also, in the old Soviet Politburo, American news reporters called the hard core commies conservatives & called the more democracy minded commies liberals. Realize, democracy minded Soviets were in danger for their lives & did disappear from time to time.

  • Nevermind that in the mid-19th century, the Republican Party was the mainstream LIBERAL party in the United States.

You were saying something about facts...?

  • too many people don't know what the hell is going on, they only nod their heads at whatever their favorite talking box channel is telling them, I'm not saying tv is bad, but people are all out of sorts about Soto (on both sides)

  • Conservative Republicans began freeing the slaves long before the civil war with the underground railroad, Conservative republicans gave you the 1965 civil right Act. And if you new anything about the old south(which I'm sure you don't) you'd know that 100% of all KKK members were Democrats. You would not want to go to a Klan rally & tell the members you were a Republican, you'd be lynched.

Not that he facts matter to you leftist weenies.

  • hey, bobble head, Mitchell...do you ever turn to that old crow you're married to and ask him what his part was in helping to destroy this country...Of course not, she'd have to be honest to do that.

  • So,,, what precedent was she following then? Can you provide a citation?

DIDN'T THINK SO!!! She wasn't following precedent; in fact, her decision ran counter to Supreme Court precedent as found in the Seattle schools case AND the Kentucky schools case - both decided in the 1990s.

You're wrong; her decision in the Ricci case was AGAINST precedent!
