ISIS bei Arte Tracks (german) Interview Live

Kleiner Ausschnitt aus der Fernsehsendung "Tracks" die bei Arte läuft. Es wird die Band ISIS vorgestellt. Man hört u.a. den Song "Wrist Of Kings", "Dulcinea", "False Light"


This is the translation of the Interview.
Please keep in mind, that english isn't my mother-tongue...(I learned english at school) and that there might be some mistakes. But I have done my best to translate it, so that anyone who speaks english is going to understand it.

Well anyway, hope you'll enjoy:

Now we'll sway you softly into sleep with ISIS, our live act of the week.
Now at 'TRACKS'.
During the past 10 years the californians of 'ISIS' have mashed everything that stood in their way.
But thanks to their athmospheric sound they aren't a pure metal band since a long time.
Aaron Turner, the head of the band who was born 1978 in New Mexico, has originally studied art in Boston.
He grounded the label 'Hydra Head'; symbol for the new US heavy metal, at the age of 17.

Aaron:
The first epiphany came with 'Licence to Ill' the first album of the 'Beasty Boys'.
When I listened to that songs with those hammering beats ans those simple, nearly prehistoric appearing riffs..my blood was on fire.
I was 8 or 9 years old an I thought: "That's what you were looking for!"
That marked the point in my life, when parents or silbings don't have an influence to your decisions anymore.

We just tried to be representational of the lives we lead and the world, as we experience it.
That's why the brutality and violence that dominates this world, are important elements of our music.
When we started we focused more on that. We were teenager an needed a valve for our fears.
But that has changed with the age...to some degree :)

There was this radio interview I heard some time ago, somewhere online, and Aaron explained the name was originally just something they settled on at first, but over time it crept its way into their imagery and lyrics.  Isis loves women.

Is there no interview of the band, where they explain why they named themselves ISIS?

IF they are called after the female godess, yes,.. but are they? there are no references whatsoever and also i see no reason for this, there is no connection between their music and the egyptian god..

or is there? :/
