Oh I agree with you. It's one of those "I'm pretending to be all interesting and esoteric because it makes me look interesting to the pseudo intellectual types" that's always up it's own ass because of how sheer nonsensical it is.
The boy is from the first ad they did. I guess it's suppose to tie-in with an "oh look you and me are the chosen ones that received this message of an incoming invasion, and oh... we are telepathically linked somehow, wow!" sort of thing, lol.
