This version of this classic Lizzy tune song came about as part of a competition to "RE MAKE" the original...not "RE DO" the original...take it or leave it as you wish...nothing more or less...i happen to think Philo would have loved it!...he LOVED POP MUSIC...ever heard his solo records??..if one can try to understand about Phil (like i try to everyday of my life) then maybe they can grasp what im talking about, and tried to accomplish with this song....if not...then thats ok too!....Because as the man himself once said..."there are people that will despise you, they'll analyze and criticize you...etc"...I hope you know the rest...as these are words to live by...i know i can speak for all of us by saying, "we miss you Philo"...and making this song has brought me closer to the man in my heart...So with that i also say "JOB DONE!!"...(actually that's what Philomena said)...Finally, a toast (i'm buying!!)..."Long live Phil's spirit and his music and words, take chances and lead with your heart"...With love from Dublin, Jimmy C

  • wow NONE of any of these comments know what they are talking about JC is one of the greatest fucking guys in terms of being a friend to all and his music fucking rocks - I will not accept any opinion less than this.

  • Maybe these guys are nice guys, but this a TERRIBLE cover of a great song.

Just because you sing the same lyrics, doesn't make it the same song. This isn't a Thin Lizzy cover, for all those that said it was.

  • New, fresh, not Lizzy but great.

Totally adore the hints to the "Old Town" -video! :)

    C U in Västerås JC

    :)

  • I have to say I think its a great song great performance BUT it is so far removed from the original that its unrecognizable. Whilst remake doesn't mean play it the same there still needs to be an identifying signature to it and this doesn't have it. All that said as a stand alone song (forget its a remake) I think its excellent and I'd buy it

  • Oh, Come on! The cover is very good and Jimmi too, so fuck off if you don't like it! Jimmi and Brian, great team! U ;)

  • Fluff.

  • @animatedfather and I will beleve this until the day I die

  • What! No way in hell this song is horrible - I hate to argue because it doesn't get anyone anywhere.. but as a big Thin Lizzy fan and JC fan I can say first hand I completely and utterly disagree with anyone who says this song sucks. because it doesn't

  • That's great Jimmy, crap all over this great song. WTF?

You took a song in a minor key and played in a major key, and now it sounds like the theme song to FRIENDS.

You really removed the balls from this song. Bollocks.

I really wish I didn't have to be so harsh but it's the truth. Fuck.
