  • I couldn't agree more. I personally listen to VTurner which has like some 7,000 radio stations from across the globe. Now why would I want to turn on the Radio which only plays the same 20 recycled songs day in and day out. What this industry need is a musical revolution once again. We need more diversity, more ideas, more ways for artists to get their music out and be heard. Not the same old formula which has long burned itself out.

  • I couldn't agree MORE. The deregulating of radio station ownership was the beginning of the end!

*Don't forget the High price and poor margin of the CD. In the late 90s it cost less to print a CD then a cass, but the CDs were twice the price? Stores reluctantly pulled vinyl to make room for CDs, and took a hit on their bottom line.

    * How about the elimination of the single? CDs were marketed on the strength of a song, leaving MANY customers disappointed.

  • @BlazinNSoul - Sorry but you are absolutely, 100% dead-wrong here. It's "top 40" so it's the same *40* recycled songs. :-D

Oh and +1 to "more diversity" !!

  • @fret2424 Yup. Deregulation (for the most part) SUCKS. Try to tell that to the Ron Paul people lol.

  • I heard this on Coast to Coast radio, by a wildcard caller: He said part of the reason is digital recordings (during replay) produce negative ions. which are harsh to the ears. But analog (tape) produces positive ions which are warm and clean to the ears.

  • The REAL reason?

    Technology. NO ONE'S FAULT.

It is bound to happen to other industries that employee many more peeps than just the music biz. We are moving on to the dream society very quickly.

  • I've only seen this video with Don, but this dude is smart as hell! He's SO right.

  • Brilliant.

  • damn get me some good music now ...

  • i agree
