Rob Bell is Senior Pastor of Mars Hill Church in Grand Rapids Michigan. His new book, Love Wins is causing somewhat of a stir. But in reality, it's simply warmed over protestant liberalism cloaked in ultra hip, postmodern emergent speak. Be warned: it is another gospel!

@djx08 Yes. In the bible there is no distinction between propositional truth and mere reality. But if truth is not spoken in love, then its no longer Gods truth but our arrogance. We have hijacked the truth of God and used it for power and control. Propositional truth will always expose a deeper truth, 1Jn 2:9-10. Christianity is a statement of certainty in Christ, according to the bible as Gods self-revelation. Anyone can learn the truth, living that truth requires an act of God, only in love.

This guys seems to be at stage 2 of M.Scott Pecks stages of spiritual development, i'm currently working on an essay in which this video is an excellent case-study. The communication gap between Bell and many of his critics is due to the incompatibility of post-modern mysticism with formal imperialism. Uncertainty scares fundamentalists to death, parables and metaphors are mysterious, but mystery can be explored and understood only by those not scared of questions and paradox.

I can't comprehend "Evangelicals" like Bell who supposedly read the Bible yet are void of any fear of God. According to the very Word he is interpreting his "ministry" is constructing his own private slide to hell.
