According to statistics from the U.S. Department of Labor, the jobless rate among veterans of World War II, Korea, and Vietnam is currently 7.6% -- up from 4% this time last year. Unemployment among veterans of the Gulf War I (1990-91) stands at 6.1% -- up from 5.2% last year. And those returning from recent Gulf Wars (post-2001) are experiencing an unemployment rate of 11.6% -- up from last year's 8%, and surpassing the overall national jobless rate of 10.2%.
After not being able to find a job at home, I requested to go back to active duty but my Guard unit denied the transfer. Thanks America!
