  • 2:00 - Is that the infamous creationist pamflet "atlas of creation" in the background???

Hope even astrophysicists now just as good as evolutionary biologists that this is written by a scienticfic illiterate: the dubious interior designer/islam fundamentalist Adnan Oktar (pseudonym: Harun Yahya) who is flooding european highschoolteacher with antiscientific propaganda... no one knows where he gets the money to do it.

  • @jalgjalg and @Digeridude: The whole story behind why the book is on his shelf can be found on our "behind-the-scenes" channel, nottinghamscience.

  • @jalgjalg I prefer to think of this solar system to have been "chosen" for the Latest iteration of sentient life. there is a fine line between the arrogance of saying there is a god and the arrogance of saying there is no god and I am right.

"The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing." Socrates

Those all to true words seam to me to lend credence to Agnosticism.

  • @humanity6fl9 That's kind of funny. I was just lately thinking of starting a local chapter of the cult of Dionysus. Think of it everyone getting together donating money then passing around a couple of bottles of communion wine or bandy or run or whiskey and then writing it off on our taxes.

  • @PainSurgeon first of all without faster than light travel most of their discoveries are somewhat unimportant. Second, after you die, and someday you will die, the spots on other planets won't mean a flying toss but whether there is a god or an afterlife will. The sad thing is the lack of philosophizer and training not astronomers.

Don't get me wrong I love this stuff but I don't think its the most important thing out there.

And organized religion is a crock of Sh!t.

  • Jupiter stop big object doing bad things to earth.

    That sound strange.

  • Did he just say that there's only about 10000 professional astronomers in the world? Damn... all that wasted potential in humanity. Why can't we educate everyone in the knowledge of the universe at a young age, instead of religious nonproven stories? Lot less crazy people, lot more thinking people after a generation or two.

  • lovely girl.

  • @BGenerous i know how the universe works, it gives me a shit job, low pay, 4 hungry kids, 2 loans and a mortgage. . .

  • I blame global warming.

  • Jupiter and Venus are merely going through puberty. I'm sure they would appreciate it if you didn't announce their acne so publicly.
