  • You fail to see the big picture. Unions are, and have been historically, a safeguard of the middle class. They empower regular people, and that is why the ownership class has sought to crush them at every opportunity. You fail to mention that the budget "crisis" has been brought on by tax cuts for corporations, and the "crisis" is now being used to pry even more power away from working people. We are becoming a banana republic and you seem blissfully unaware of that.

  • @pgk7285 My video is about the major reason for the protests in Madison. Judging from the first part of your comment, you don't seem to disagree, since you are defending the unions. Do you believe state workers should be forced to pay union dues or should they have a choice in the matter?

  • @pgk7285 U.S. corporations face one of the highest income tax rates in the world.

Those teachers are making 72/hr. I don't think they need a union to protect them. I think the taxpayers need a union to protect us from these predatory wages.

  • There shouldn't have to be a law to say one can opt out of the union. Just as Obamacare is being deemed unconstitutional, in that the government can't force its people to purchase health insurance, so is forced union membership. Union influence is waning because too often they are more concerned about collecting dues than the welfare of the worker.

  • Exactly...you are correct!

  • I cross my fingers for them. I think it should always be a choice. Especially if your not a part of them.
