  • Hey guy, this is not about bizarre stories of Brazil, but this is is about a stumbling of a great and visionary man that had incredible initiatives and invented the modern industry. He wanted to dominate all the commodities and it was missing the rubber for the tires so he had the great idea of install an rubber factory in the heart of Amazon but the silly initiative to change the native (Amazon Indians), imposing the American Dream to a people that already had it's own way of life.

  • Excellent book. A great insight into the mind of Henry Ford.

  • Nice job -- I read the book, it is really entertaining besides being excellent research. Besides the truly bizarre stories of Brazil misadventures, there is a good amount in the first part on the nature of Ford's grandiose social planning in Detroit which makes for fascinating reading. Highly reccomended! 5*s

  • I first heard about Fordlandia on democracynow. It was an interesting piece that I never heard of, but hearing how it went later on was the clash of cultural values between north & south.
