The whole nation? That's silly, gay marriage will be legal one day and it has some support. But I find it funny that people protest gays and yet nobody protests adultery and heterosexual fornication. I wonder why.

All I can say is that if Iived in California, Gavin Newsom would have my vote.  He took a brave stand here, and I applaud him for it.

On 12 June 1967, in the case of Loving Versus Virginia, the U.S. Supreme Court overturned the laws banning interracial marriage in the United States. This was done by a court decision, based on the constitution, and not by any popular vote. Our courts exist, in large part, to protect the rights of the individual and to prevent the rights of the minority from being taken away by the majority. Loving Versus Virginia was decided by the Supreme Court "whether you like it or not."

@mrcooldude964 Based on god's opinion on other subjects, such as slavery (see Exodus 21:20-21 for an example) and child execution, we don't care what he thinks. He's shown himself to be incompetent to make moral judgments.

He's not my favorite; he's kind of a corporate yuppie type, and there are other San Francisco politicians who are more progressive.

But here, he's exactly right. History will regard him kindly for being on the right side. And I voted for him specifically because of this moment.
