@MrAk527 - No disrespect intended, but you can say that about almost ANY skill.
I'm 43 years old and originally from The Bronx, so I remember the first wave of Kung-fu films to hit the theaters in the early 70's. Trust me. There is no tangible connection between Hip Hop and Kung Fu flicks.

Ok Course Hip Hop and Martial Arts is related, You need Patience, Discipline and Skills, You must Practice and Compete, You have can have Style and Charisma, You often have a Teacher and Crews Battle each other, locally or they travel, Many of the Hip Hop Legends grew up watching and fascinated by Martial Arts Flicks, and there is so much more to add to this

The voice over sounds like something out of an infomercial.

@hollatotal30 Yeah.. I already know all of those artists. But still... there is No connection between kung fu and hip hop. thats all im saying. its a fact.

@Disposition446 Are serious --- STDS too? Please no more hyperbole .find Mos DEF, The Roots, Common, talib kweli, Immortal Technique, Black Star, Kam and I grew up listening to KRS-One & A tribe called quest. And on a finally note I don't listen to Commercial Hip Hop but I know it isn't guilty of selling anything that you wouldn't find on the billboard top 40 if Hip Hop is gone

@hollatotal30 martial arts are about discipline, respect, self control, letting go of the material world, hip hop is about fucking bitches and getting money, doing drugs, selling drugs, killing people, guns, STD's, objectifying women, nigger this nigger that. Its the opposite.
- Old school kung fu flicks, IMO, have never represented hip hop or vice versa.
The truth is, these movies were a mainstay in urban communities from the mid-to-late 70's into the mid 80's. Urban kids loved these movies, and they loved hip hop. Outside of Wu Tang, who took their love of the genre and mixed it with their brand of hip hop...there is no real connection other than a shared love.
