Here's the first in a short series of online bass lessons looking at the bass lines of Graham Maby as played with Joe Jackson. Graham's lines are great for beginners to the bass guitar because they tend to be relatively easy to play - but they almost always include some cool stuff. This line will help beginners learn some of the higher notes on their fretboard - plus there are some cool melodic fills that you can lift from the bridge section.
You're dead right! It seems its my phone speaker, but I can hear it with earphones.

Wtf? It's got no sound aside from his speaking, and the metronome. So you cant even hear what it is meant to sound like.

@onehandontool Dude - that's your computer speakers. Listen via headphones and you'll hear everything. Computer speakers are tiny little tweeters - they can't handle the bass response.

I would suggest using a pick and some tapewound strings to really get Graham's sound on this tune.

@FluffyWagglekins Yeah I thought about doing the thumb picking and palm muting thing to replicate the sound a bit more...but ended up choosing a 'flatwound' type sound on my Variax. It's a unique sound that's for sure...
