"The Think Tank" is powered by the reaction between acetic acid and baking soda. The carbon dioxide that is produced is stored in a pressure vessel until the car is run. At the starting line, a ball valve is opened which allows the gas to flow through a pneumatic motor which pulls the car forward. In this run we were 4 feet and 8 inches away from the line. We placed third at the competition with this run.
