Another way to understand that 'A' is not pressed:
Look the speed: is greater than usual kart top speed and this is possible only if you are shrooming.
And when your shroom you dont need to press 'A'.

First shroom is used exactly at the start (so no 'A' is needed to start)
Suddenly i 'tick' the wall. After ticking, speed decreases constanlty but slowly. And so on with other shrooms.
Try yourslef 'ticking' a wall w/o pressing 'A' (you have to jump just before crashing into the wall).
The original idea of doing one lap w/o pressing 'A' is by the great MKSC player Kartseven.
