@nsbd90now Sure. But I'm still thankful for the good things. Can never hurt to count your blessings. And where you see the more prevalent extremism is relative to your own political philosophy, I suppose, for example I personally see more left wing extremism. Many of our elected officials believe a new gov't program or bailout is the answer to our problems. It makes me uneasy that the left-wingers in Congress are taking over companies. I don't know, I just think it's a potential slippery slope.

@zeecee1 The "love it or leave it" attitude is just so empty. I do not believe in a morality that compares downwards, i.e. since they are so much worse that makes what we do ok. That is pure moral vacuity. I DO think torture is horrible, am distressed we now seem to think it is ok. We cannot claim a moral high ground with such a move. I agree with you though, yes, we do have it "pretty good" here, but it is getting worse, not better, due to right wing extremism and downward moral comparisons..
