Oxjam's aim is to stage as many music events as possible to raise money for Oxfam Ireland .
LUAN PARLE
Multi award winning Luan Parle was born in Wicklow, Ireland in the mid eighties . Her distinctive name comes from a French ancestor who was shipwrecked off the Wexford coast.
She comes from a musical family. Her father is a musician as are her brothers.
Luan began to develop her own vocal style early on and, a few months before her seventh birthday, won the first of a string of talent contests. At age ten, she was fronting her own band. She took some of numerous opportunities to perform on radio and television including national appearances at the age of eleven on top rated national Irish TV shows "The Late Late Show", "Kenny Live" and "School Around The Corner". Luan gained invaluable experience when asked to play as special guest to Elton John and to tour with the emerging James Blunt
The experience Luan gained working with the cream of producers and session musicians was invaluable in taking Luan to a level where she could and often did co-produce her work Luan is a very astute businesswoman and decided to set-up her own company to control the resources she had to work with. The good early advice from her parents paid off as she could now manage her own business having the necessary accounting, budgeting, organisational and Information Technology skills
Luan hooked up with UK producer Stephen Lironi to create the album "Free" which was released in early 2007 to great critical acclaim
This was swiftly followed by the 2007 Meteor Award for "Best Irish Female Artist" and the album was short listed to the final three (with Snow Patrol & Duke Special) at Northern Irelands "Big Buzz" Entertainment Industry Awards. Luan won an award at the lavish Belfast ceremony for "Most Stylish Female Entertainer"
Luan has guested for INXS, toured with Nanci Griffith, Played the Midlands Music Festival, Headlined the Oxjam charity gigs in Dublin and Belfast and headlined the Marie Keating Foundation fundraiser in the Hard Rock Café, all to great acclaim. Nanci and her band stood side stage for her set each night on the tour and they could not believe she was not a huge name in America. INXS said they were "blown away" by her performance
In November 2007 Luan was honoured with the Tatler Award for "Music woman of the Year". Luan won the "Best Female" category at the 2008 BalconyTV awards in the Sugar Club on Friday June 20th 2008. BalconyTV is an award winning website showcasing the best of musicians. With bases in Dublin (Ireland) and Hamburg (Germany) BalconyTV has become an an integral part of the music scene in Ireland

Gavin Ralston
Guitarist, Multi- Instrumentalist, Producer and Engineer Gavin Ralston has been involved in the Music Industry for many years - covering virtually every Genre from Rock, Pop & Folk to Traditional, Classical and Theatrical (Stage).He has performed and toured with many Traditional & Folk Acts and also Rock & Pop acts.
In the Theatrical world he has performed in various Irish dance shows including: Michael Flatley's Celtic Tiger ,Dance of Desire ,Dance on the Moon etc. He also performed with the Riverdance classical choral group Anuna, featured in Rubato's Flaminco Dance Show, performed in the Oylmpia's modern adaptation of the Brecht play Mother Courage, featured as a soloist with the RTE (Irelandís National TV Station) Concert Orchestra
As a session musician he has been involved with numerous musicians. He also produced a tuition book & Video for Waltons / Melbay on the Irish Traditional Guitar and is currently working on an updated book & DVD
Gavin set-up SILVERWOOD STUDIOS and has engineered & produced for a large and growing list of well respected clients.
