"Guddada bhootha a unique dance of ghosts When Bharata came up with his "Natyashastra", one of the first known documentation of dramatics in human history, he said that his rules apply to every performing artist. Now, do these rules apply to ghosts, goons and zombies? Let us find out by watching the dance "Guddada Bhoota".
In this dance, you will witness multiple emotions inspired by performing ghosts (bhootas). The dance starts off with the onset of night, which makes the ghosts happy, and they start spreading joy around their graves. While they are at it, beautiful Mohinis enter the scene, creating a romantic mood for the ghosts. Their romantic euphoria is broken when the villain - "Aghori" enters the scene. They are startled by his spells, but when his spells eventually fade, he imposes one last spell - the celebration spell.
Come witness the awesomeness of half-dead zombies spread joy, romance, horror and celebration in an extravaganza never seen before: Guddada Bhoota".
Performers are Devadutta Ghat, Nitin Mandhal, Dilip Nayak, Durga Prasad Bilagi, Shriram Deshpande, Balaji, Jason Cheruvathoor, Raghavendra Bokkasada, Varsha Nayak, Lavanya Mandhal and Soumya Chandrashekar.

  • as per tulu culture, bhootha and pishachi are different. The one which you were showing is pishachi (kule in tulu) and not bhootha. Bhootha (or daiva) are good spirits which are worshipped across tulunaDu and they take care of people, cows and agriculture land....

  • agree with you...

'Guddada bhoota' is very popular among kannadigas, so we kept that name for this 'ghost dance'.

  • @venuaquila If you dont understand the culture dont miss represent it and make fun of it..

  • Yes , Its the good spirit which protects the agricultural family along with the pets. At the end of the pooja the head of the family offers his prayer called Madhu , in that he prays for the protection of the whole family and asks to forgive all mistakes that had done in that year.

This is the opportunity to the community to get together and to forgive the differences among the family. Beautifull creation of the elder people.
