Hey, this looks like my local trail/logging road network in and around Nanaimo on Vancouver Island. Are you in that neck of the woods?

I currently got a 990 Adventure down in the garage, but I am very much looking forward getting something lighter in addition. The KLX250 would be my first choice, maybe by the end of the year when I can get a used 2009 model for a good price. The 990 Adv is really fun for touring, also on unpaved roads, but simply too heavy for me for more serious offroad fun. And it's cheap to insure it, a very important argument when you are on limited budget and need to pay for two bikes. Test ridde soon!

@kaiuweoch ... my friend rides a 950 Adventure including on single tracks. It is a fantastic all round machine and he is an exceptional rider. But you are correct, a lighter bike like the KLX250s is more fun on the tight trails. Another benefit is less maintenance at a much lower cost. We prefer the first series, '06 and '07 with taller suspension compared to current models.

IMO the KLX250S, with somewhat lower-than-stock gearing, is currently the BEST TRUE dual sport motorcycle money can buy! This is the next bike I would buy, even if I won 100 million dollars. This would be next! By the way nice video. That's really cool that you're out riding with your daughter. Good to see her wearing proper riding gear. And it looks as if she knows how to ride too!

@kj7687 .... thanks for the positive comments! I will pass them on to her. In this video she is a beginner but has raised her skill level many times since then. She is riding the same KLX, an indestructible bike as she has since proven! In the end its all about having family fun, made that much better by riding together.
