  • show me where we can find this full speech online and verify that the clock on the cathedral was working

  • who cares if the clock was working? I don't think that getting the clock in Jackson Square to work was a high priority at that point.

  • Speech was not made in New Orleans. It was made in movie studio where they filmed the moon walks. Look at the backdrop, how lifeless and two-dimentional it is. And the clock on the catherdral doesn't move. The fact is that New Orleans was attacked by al Qaeda, who blew the levees, and it was just too unsafe for the commander in chief to appear there.

  • you are retarded

  • @matt605 Huh? I recall the speech was about 20 minutes long, and the clock hands never moved. If anyone can find a copy of the full speech, then you'll see. I don't get why this address to the nation is not available online.

  • @matt605 If it was "not even a minute," how could you tell if the clock hands were moving?

  • This controversy could be resolved by showing the entire Bush speech online and observing whether or not the clock hands move. Who has the video of the entire speech with the clock in the background?

  • @kellcrow I disliked Bush with a passion, but I really think he wanted to do this stuff.... but you need Congress to do this stuff. Congress tired quickly of New Orleans, and they never cared. And this was even before all the current whining about expenses. God forbid this should happen to any city today... they'd truly be on their own.

  • @Ace2sly Thanks. I am a NOLA native who watched the speech from DC. That's how I knew how hosed New Orleans was -- when the President of the United States can stand in Jackson Square, with all those apartments lining the Square, and the Secret Service lets him do it -- because NOBODY IS THERE. I thought, "OMG, the city must really be dead." I cried through the whole speech.

  • @matt605 The clock on the basilica was not working. It runs on electricity. You see, there was this hurricane called Katrina. It cut off all power to New Orleans, and it hadn't been restored yet. I know these are difficult concepts, but do try to keep up.

  • I've been looking for a copy of this speech because when I saw it on TV years ago, I was astounded that he was unable to button his shirt correctly before a nationally televised address. Personally, I think he was drunk.

  • For those of you who want to know the name of the song in the video... the title of the song is "Hopeless". It's Train from their Drops of Jupiter album

  • nothing this man has said yet,was or ever will come true!!

this is ethnic cleansing in america!!
