the whole point was that LSU got more chances at being #1 then everyone else. there is no way a team should be #1 then lose, climb back up to #1 and then give up 50at home in a loss, and finally magically jump from SEVEN to the #2 team in the polls. i guarantee you that has never happened before in the history of college football. just like there has never been a 2 loss champion.

Maybe Ohio State should not have been in the championship game .... But without a doubt LSU was the BEST club in the nation .... The BCS Committee rejected UGA, OU, and SC because their loses were at the hands of lower quality competition .... LSU was the better of the two (2) lose squads .... The Tigers endures the toughest schedule .... Both loses took triple overtimes .... LSU was the most "battle-tested" football team in College Football .... ESPN knew a good team .... Thank You ESPN.

@gopack05 Sorry your info is incorrect and probably based on nothing. I know people in the LSU AD and they did try and schedule USC but USC would not agree. You know why? Because one solid a-whooping from an SEC school and USC's little reputation would go down the toilet. Besides Mr. Miles has a crystal ball, Carroll did have a crystal ball.

all ill is, all we need to do is run the table. w/ OSU and nebraska choking, OUs history of bowl losses, and TCU & BSU not having strong enough schedules, we still control our title game destiny. A matchup w/ Oregon sounds tasty.

@HokiesAndDawgs the hokies played an even nicer game against James Madison. Even better is Georgia embarrassing the SEC. it not just losing most OOC games, but also the arrests of not only their players but their AD as well.  With the caliber they're playing right now Georgia belongs in the ACC or big East.

a one loss SEC champ has often ended up the national champ as well. no shame w/ one loss in such a tough conference. Losing to an FCS cupcake is pretty weak though.

How Auburn went undefeated and didn't even get invited to the BCS title game, and Miles and LSU had two losses and still won the BCS title still beats me.

LSU will need a new coach if they want to lift the national title anytime soon. did everyone see miles' excellent game calling against ole miss last season?
